Project overview and objectives

When a Fortune 500 chemicals company spun off an automotive business unit, the corporate accounting, internal audit, and tax functions of the new company engaged Clearsulting to help stand up the corporate accounting function. Goals of this project were to:

• Define a standard corporate accounting process framework and develop future state processes
• Implement the BlackLine Tasks module for corporate accounting processes
• Redesign and standardize key controls across the organization, leveraging the tasks module to enable electronic sign-off

What we did

Successfully implemented the BlackLine Tasks module:

• Provided a baseline to prepare the team for future standardization
• Created global visibility for corporate accounting leadership
• Established and standardized key controls across the organization
• Implemented 100 percent electronic key control validation and sign-off structure

We also delivered a transformation roadmap of more than 20 initiatives to help drive efficiencies across the finance and accounting organization and enable internal audit efficiencies.
