Project overview and objectives
When a $3B oil and gas manufacturing company came to us, they had just undergone an acquisition—disrupting their operating model and leaving them with a shortage of Finance & Accounting (F&A) talent. While their immediate focus was updating their ERP to SAP S/4HANA, they recognized the need for supplemental hands to manage their business processes and upcoming projects.
What we did
We started by evaluating the specific F&A process knowledge needs of the organization and developed a staff augmentation plan with qualified resources at each level. Then, we delivered hands-on support to address these areas:
- Executing day-to-day account activities to free up internal resources for SAP S/4HANA transformation
- Providing project management oversight and expertise to maintain governance
- Offering additional subject matter expertise to drive best practices in the new ERP design
Impact
With additional help, the organization had more time to focus on change management and ERP transformation. We matched five highly qualified F&A resources to roles, augmenting their staff but keeping the business running as usual. And their long-term goals and high-priority projects? On track.
